The Pharisee in Luke 18 is knowledgeable, of high standing and arrogant. The tax collector is of low status, not liked by the community and knows he is a sinner. We should realize it’s not how good or not good we are that gets us into Heaven, it’s our faith and relationship with God. You should recognize the sin in your life, build community to help take the next steps, and know you are valued and release the chains in your heart.
